This retirement calculator will assist you in determining how much money you will save until you reach retirement age, using the fund of your choice.

How much do you need to retire?

A basic rule of thumb is to strive to replace 70% of your pre-retirement income per year. This retirement fund percentage is the calculator's default setting. You can supplement your pre-retirement income with a mix of savings, investments, Social Security, and other sources of income (part-time work, a pension, rental income, etcetera). Several calculators are available on the Social Security Administration's website to assist you in estimating your benefits.

It's crucial to think about how your spending may alter once you retire. Some, such as health care and travel, are expected to rise. However, you can reduce your regular expenses: you may no longer need to set aside a portion of your income for retirement.

Create any required adjustments based on your retirement goals. For example, you might only plan to replace 60% of your home. If you plan to travel once a year, you should aim to replace 100% or even 110% of your pre-retirement earnings.
